Free breakfast for babes ... and stick around for lunch, or whatever.
What a difference a day makes!
Another sunny day at the beach ... more to come:
As promised ....
PS: For those of you who were not at the beach yesterday here is how it looked.
Last night we went up to Beach Place to have dinner at Max's Place. Since the last time (*) we were there the restaurant has moved 'down-market'. But Beach Place itself was fairly busy.
(*) We were with Kig ... back when she was pregnant.
It is Saturday; the day of the week when our Thai women descend upon a little store called Thai Video. For it is on Saturday ... and on every Saturday ... when the owner of the shop makes her Thai delicacies and Thai desserts. Also ... and more importantly ... it is the day when the most recent episodes of the popular Bangkok soap operas become available here (*).
Today Watcharee, Kig, Pen and Grape were the four customers for both food and video. The three small boys: Anthony, Johnny and Margo belong, respectively, to Kig, Pen and Grape. Most of you know Watcharee and Kig by sight; Pen is the woman with short hair and in the blue dress ... Grape is in red.
The beautiful Thai girl ... (seen along with Watcharee in one pose and standing alone in another pose) ... is only 14 years old. Already she has won some beauty contests and everyone thinks that when she goes to Thailand she will become a super star; perhaps in one of the soap operas that her mother now distributes. Her name is Namfon. Watch for her name in lights, especially if you can read Thai.
(*) Usually less than a week after they are aired in Thailand they are locally copied onto DVDs and tapes ... ready to be wept over in South Florida homes.
Wow! It was a bumper day for beach bunnies ... maybe they are not all of the very highest quality ... but, certainly they are worthy of a look. Anyway, I have never seen the sand so crowded.
This photo (sent by reader Andy Page of the UK) reminds me of one of my own airport visits a few years ago: one in which the boarding passengers on my flight were entertained by the burning hulk of an 'ex-flying machine'.
PS: Hooter's smoke break:
How boring can I get?
One of the benefits in living in a condo or an apartment is that you don't have to worry about landscaping. Unfortunately, I also didn't worry too much about the landscape in the house I own; for years I thought it would just take care of itself. Not so!
Now it needs major earth-work.
But, dear reader, I promise not to return to this effort too often: maybe only when the work is completely finished.
PS: Ten Thai Commandments for Female Teens (Boys need not obey)
This evening Watcharee and I went to the Galleria Mall to meet Susan (*) and Bill. They took us to dinner at Seasons 52; the same place where Watcharee and I celebrated her 31st birthday.
It was great to see both of them again.
(*) Yes, the same Susan from Elephant Polo, Bangkok romps, London getaways and hot air ballooning ... and much much more.
