This refrigerator unit can be easily removed from the cavity between the trunk and the rear seat center armrest. The driver then has the option of closing the orifice completely with the hinged door or of allowing something really lengthy to lie in the empty passageway ... such as skis or a very long gun. Or, if the driver has confined someone to the trunk this unblocked little hole between the compartments could facilitate communication without yelling. Should the relationship between the driver and the occupant of the trunk be friendly, or even just benign, control of the radio-telephone-DVD-CD-navigation remote (*) could easily be passed to the trunk tenant. Mercedes thinks of everything!
(*) The remote is infrared so it needs a line-of-sight passage to work.
