The Sydney Rock oysters are back at Witch's. So are the legs.
Less than a 15 second walk from our condo is the Ruam Rudi shopping mall. We've tried several of the restaurants there including Witch's, Circle, and Coffee Beans by Dao. Last night I tried Bacchus which is a wine bar and restaurant. I ordered fresh Sydney oysters bathed in a caviar sauce, Rocket salad and Monk fish. All of the dishes were brilliant. I love our new neighborhood.
Another TV commercial in the neighborhood?
I have to back away from Bacchus a little bit: too many Tuna dishes.
OK, how about a garage shot?
Bacchus again. This time Salmon Tartar with Goat Cheese, Rocket Salad and Mussels Florentine ... and a little tiny pre-starter of I Don't Know.
At the corner of Ruam Rudi and Ploenchit there once stood an "L" shaped building that housed some drab offices and a few non-exciting ground floor shops. Just a few weeks ago it was just that; today it is no more. On this spot a Novotel hotel will be built. I am sure that its construction will take much longer than its predecessor's destruction.
This site at the intersection of Wireless Road and Ploenchit is being cleared in preparation for the erection of a Ritz Carlton hotel.
This would be so cool if it happened on January 20th when W finally leaves the White House.
Is The New Yorker playing make-up?
PS: My friend, Dan, from Taipei and Shanghai sent this.
Life's tough now:
