October 25-31, 2009
Our neighbors are growing.
And, we have a nice sunset.
I stayed in today except for a brief trip to our next door shopping mall: Ruam Rudee. Here are a few random shots from and in the place. The pigeons and the cat always eye one another just before feeding time (when one of the local restaurants scatters bread crumbs for the birds). Since the birds really outnumber the cats it is a one sided feed.
Annie and Jez were supposed to be here in Bangkok today ... but ...
"Hi Dad, we are now at the Hotel Niko in Narita Japan. We will be arriving on flight NW341 from Narita late tonight 27th (pretty much the same flight a day later). There was a typhoon in Narita and we landed at Yakota airbase first then when we were supposed to be going to Narita for a second go we ended up at Hanita airport. 16 hrs sat on the plane then an 1h1/2 on a coach!! We will email you before we set off for the airport tomorrow."
I wonder, do political cartoonists who are syndicated internationally have to submit various formats of their sketches or, can they rely on the different publications to do the fitting bits? This GOD/LAWYER (my favorite duo) cartoon appeared today in both the International Herald Tribune and the Bangkok Post.
PS: Kevin sent me this rejection letter. He is devistated.
Annie and Jez finally arrived. It is so good to see the both of them.
They brought me a new toy and a new book: a Garmin GSPMAP 60CSx (*) and "The Book of Genesis ... Illustrated by R. Crumb".
We are about to go out to dinner ... more later.
(*) It even reads through very tinted storm windows.
PS: Here are some photos from Annie.
PPS: More photos from Annie.
PPPS: Their toilet in Japan.
Just food and love.
Annie sends some photos of their room and their hotel.
PS: Annie and Jez visited the Aquarium at Siam Paragon today.
Annie and Jez's journey continues.
This is the fantasy hotel Halloween that we all love including that Thai vampire girl who we would love to have "do" us.
But, there is a much darker part of Bangkok that I drive through quickly and with my windows UP ... and never at night.
