HERE are some photographs taken at the 1995 annual Elephant Polo Tournament in Nepal. Our Norse-American team competed bravely, but we ultimately had to leave without the trophy. That went instead to the team from the Phillipines. They returned home triumphantly to bask in the acclaim of a proud nation. Other teams that participated did not treat the event so seriously.
The governing rules for the Elephant Polo Tournament were established by the World Elephant Polo Association, which is headquarted at the Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge in Chitwan, Nepal.
